I have worked with numerous first-time buyers and their parents/families over the years, and I have a special empathy and patience for all the questions they have throughout the whole lifecycle of a purchase. As a home owner in Manhattan as well as Miami Beach, I have been through the process as a buyer myself and have a lot of familiarity and understanding of all the potential speed bumps one can potentially encounter along the way. Over the years I have sold many condos to investors, as well as the occasional co-op with tenants already in place, and I am very realistic about the market value for a particular property. A finance major, I am quite seasoned in managing my clients' expectations and assisting them in evaluating each opportunity by the numbers.

A fair amount of my business is working with people who are either empty-nesters returning to NYC after 20 years in the suburbs or people who have always wanted to live in New York as either a full-time or secondary residence, so I have developed a good understanding of the things that are important to clients moving to the City. As someone who has lived in the majority of neighborhoods in my 13+ years in Manhattan (and certainly sold in all of them), I am very familiar with each area and can answer questions and provide recommendations about day-to-day life in every area of New York.

I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love as my daily work. I didn’t know that it was possible to adore your job until I became a real estate agent, but I am very grateful for my professional training as a manager at a large global consulting firm prior to discovering my true calling.

 

I have the privilege of working with my younger sister as a part of the Hamersley Team, and it is so wonderful to know I have trained another agent who represents me and my work ethic. Not to sound trite, but it is such a pleasure to be able to help people with their investment strategies as well as fulfill their dream of owning a piece of New York City.

 

I work hard and truly listen to my clients’ needs, and I am constantly cognizant of the fact that it is neither my living experience nor my money, so I am never too concerned with whether or not someone buys one specific property; I want to help them buy the RIGHT property for them.

 

My philosophy is to be a ‘shower’, not a ‘seller’ and it is one of my greatest professional accomplishments that I have a large referral base and countless repeat customers, as I truly do aim to be my clients’ real estate professional for life!

Tracie was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. We sat down before she actually began showing me apartments and laid out what my priorities were in terms of space, location, budget, etc… In particular, as a first-time buyer, and a native of California, I was unfamiliar with the Manhattan buying process. Tracie took the time to educate me generally on the home purchasing process and the Manhattan real estate market, specifically. She was very patient as I took the first couple of months to simply explore neighborhoods and apartment types. As I began to settle in on attributes, she quickly narrowed down the potential units. Although the Manhattan real estate market has demonstrated more resiliency than that of other geographies in the U.S., it is unique and complex with market forces that sometimes vary from block to block, let alone between neighborhoods. As such, it is extremely important to find a broker who does not simply download listings, but is supportive of the entire client process as well as interacts well with the other third parties involved in the purchase. Tracie was exactly that individual. She took the time to work with me and as importantly she interfaced very well with the sellers’ broker, the co-op's managing agent, my bank and other third party advisers. In fact, they all mentioned that she was a pleasure to work with and helped facilitate the process.

Tracie is the most detail-oriented and punctual agent I've ever met. She was on time to every single meeting involved in my move, and she was extremely professional every time we worked together. I was particularly impressed by Tracie's ability to keep everyone on the same page. What I loved about Tracie was that she was very responsive, always on her blackberry checking emails and that she made herself highly available for showings or my calls. Tracie has a great positive attitude, is very determined and is a real go getter. Most other brokers we met through the buying process would later tell me how good she was to work with. My experience was very personalized and even though I would change my mind on things constantly and ask a million questions, never once did she get inpatient, annoyed or bothered by it. Both buying a selling a home is a life changing journey and you want to have a guide like Tracie, she really knows the market and helps you through the maze of decisions that you will be faced with.

Tracie helped me sell my apartment during a time in which there seemed to be no buyers in the market, and I think that is worthy of recommendation by itself. Her organization from the first day was incredible, and she had a webpage for my apartment set up within hours. She brought a photographer to the property by the first evening, and she was already beginning to schedule open houses and work with my tenant to discuss availability. Every time there was an open house, she helped to rearrange the space so that it looked like a model home, and she made sure it was completely clean. She kept me well-informed throughout all of this, and I received daily updates on the progress of the sale from Tracie. We ended up getting a great offer on the apartment, and the whole experience for me was extremely relaxed and easy.

My first contact with Tracie Hamersley was in 2004 when I bought an apartment in Manhattan, one of Tracie's exclusive listings. She shepherded that transaction to a happy conclusion, though there were some problems (of the seller's making). After getting married late in 2008, and deciding to look for a larger apartment in Manhattan, my wife and I contacted Tracie both to sell my present apartment, and to help us with the purchase of another one. We've just scheduled the closing on the sale of mine, and are about to sign the contract for one we're buying. Tracie has done a fabulous job every step of the way, first with showing my apartment and negotiating with the buyer, then with negotiating with listing agents of some apartments we looked at. That may all be standard for a good agent, but Tracie has always been on top of every detail. She has excellent people skills. She keeps us constantly updated on everything that's happening. She is assertive and reasonable at the same time, and considerate of both our wishes and the others with whom she's negotiating. I have recommended Tracie to at least four friends and colleagues. We are also in the process of selling my wife's home, which is outside Manhattan. We listed the home with a local agent, and while that sale is progressing reasonably well, my wife and I have often remarked "If Tracie were handling this...." when something was being done less well than she would have. And, finally, speaking as a psychologist, Tracie has done a wonderful job of calming my wife's anxieties about the process of mortgage-applying, selling, and buying. I heartily recommend Tracie for any Realtor honors!

I contacted Tracie when I decided that I was ready to purchase my first home in Manhattan after forty years of living in the city. I had worked with a few other agents, but whenever the process slowed down and I wanted some time to consider my options, they tended to disappear. Tracie, on the other hand, was excellent. I'm disabled, and I know that this can make finding a property very difficult, but Tracie really excelled at finding me apartments that were suitable for my needs and abilities. She stuck with me throughout the process, and she previewed almost every property before suggesting it to me to make sure it was appropriate. I've bought and sold on the Upper East Side with Tracie and both transactions were very positive experiences. I've recommended her to a friend, as well, and they eventually purchased together. I think Tracie possesses every skill necessary to be a good agent. She's extremely smart, which allowed her to market our apartment in a creative and attractive way. She's very hard working and responsive, as well. Although we're not currently working together, if I have any sort of real estate question, I can ask Tracie and she'll reply, even on the weekends or holidays. Lastly, she always maintains a calm and professional attitude, which was very helpful because we were somewhat demanding clients.
