As I began my career in the rental market, I became accustomed to working the entire city and became knowledgeable not only about rental buildings but coops and condos as well. Many of my clients started out as renters and then as their life styles and circumstances changed became my buyers. I have seen them through their first purchase of a one bedroom and helped them close on a four bedroom as their family increased.

Buyers moving to NYC »

I have gone through training and have the designation of a certified relocation specialist. Having moved to New York, 20 years ago from Los Angeles, I understand the emotions and challenges involved in a relocation. It is my job to make my clients move as easy as possible. Not only will I help them find their dream apartment, but I can furnish them with information on schools, shopping, restaurants, etc. I can also recommend mortgage brokers, contractors, lawyers -- anyone or anything that the relocatee may need. I especially give attention to the spouse or partner of the relocatee, who often times is left to handle the move on their own and finds the task daunting. It is very rewarding to know that I have helped to make their move a positive experience.

First-time NYC buyers »

First time buyers are enjoyable to work with. They are enthusiastic and excited about making this investment but need help and someone with experience, who can guide them in making the right choice. As I have worked with young people since the beginning of my career, I have the patience and knowledge to accomplish this.

Agent's personal statement

The two reasons that I decided to become a real estate broker were my love of working with people and my fascination with New York City architecture. Over the past 15 years these reasons haven't changed. I still love working with people and my love of NYC has only grown.

As a broker in the city, each client presents a new and different challenge. Yet, certain aspects of my job always stay the same: for buyers, my ultimate goal is to make my clients excited, and yet comfortable, with the purchase of their new home and for sellers, I strive to make my clients confident that they have made the best deal they possibly could. Throughout my career, I've been able to achieve these goals by remembering that the process is about my client's wants and needs. It is essential that I listen carefully to what my clients have to say. Having moved here from California, I understand how important it is to work with an agent who not only cares, but listens.

I define my success by my client's happiness and I know that I've done my job when I develop long-term relationships with my clients.

“We have worked with Sheila eight or nine times and each time she has delivered 100%.”

I have worked with Sheila on eight or nine occasions, and every experience with her has been wonderful. I’m not the easiest person to deal with, nor is my wife, because we demand a level of perfection from the people we’re dealing with that many can’t offer. Sheila, on the other hand, has delivered for us 100% every time we’ve approached her. The most important thing to me with any type of business relationship is that the people you’re dealing with are responsive and that they tell you what’s going on. Sheila is terrific at that. I never felt like she left me hanging or waiting for news. Once she got to know my wife and I a bit better, she pin-pointed exactly what we were looking for and didn’t waste our time going to places that we’d never in a million years want to rent or buy. This really helped to keep a relaxed pace on our days out together. I always recommend Sheila to anyone I know who’s looking for a realtor, and I even recommended her to my business partner, who proceeded to buy and sell with Sheila and got the same incredible service that I did.

We consider Sheila our realtor for life. In fact, my husband won’t even make any real estate decision without talking to Sheila first. She was extremely helpful in helping us rent our first two apartments, and later when we were trying to buy outside of the city, she went out of her way to refer us to a few of her associates in New Jersey, Westchester, and Connecticut. When we first moved here, we didn’t know which neighborhood we wanted to live in, so Sheila gave us a complete lay of the land – she had every neighborhood wired. What we really appreciated about Sheila was that she gave us a context not only of each neighborhood, but she’s been around so long that she even knew the context of every building we looked at. For example, the first apartment she helped us rent was in the Ansonia building. We didn’t know anything about the building, but Sheila did, and she was able to tell us about the management, the type of people who lived there, its folk-lore history, everything. You can only know so much when you go into a place and look at it, but Sheila gives a much more textured look at a property. I’m a big fan of Sheila, and even if we decide to move across the country, I’m sure she’ll be able to tell us where we want to live. I would recommend her with no hesitations.

My experience with Sheila couldn’t have been better. She was a total professional. I’ve worked with agents in the past that, for personal or professional reasons, were difficult to deal with, but that wasn’t Sheila. She had a delightful personality, and was a huge pleasure to work with. From the start of the buying process, she was motivated and energetic. She quickly honed in on what I was looking for, and because of that, she never wasted time showing me properties that wouldn’t interest me. She pointed out the pros and cons of every building we visited, but she never tried to over-sell anything. When I relocated several years later, I came back to Sheila to help with the sale, and once again, she exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely recommend Sheila to a friend or family member. I couldn’t feel better about her, both as an agent and as a person

My experience with Sheila was nothing but exceptional, and because of that, I’ve had an on-going professional relationship with Sheila for the past ten years. Not only has she helped me buy a home, but since I’ve left the city three years ago, she’s helped me rent it out, as well. I’ve never once had to come back to the city to meet new tenants or take care of any paper work – Sheila does everything, from interviewing potential tenants to handing over the keys. What was immediately clear with Sheila was that she listened to me and understood what I wanted in a home. Every property that she took me to was a reflection of that understanding, and she never gave me the hard-sell that you might see with other brokers. For her, the client is king. Throughout the buying process, Sheila put together a wonderful team. She recommended a mortgage broker and a real estate lawyer to me, and they worked very hard for me because they had such a close relationship with her. She really took care of the whole process. In addition to being an incredible broker, Sheila’s an incredible person. I truly feel like our families have become great friends. I think that’s extremely important when you need to trust someone with your most valuable assets. I would certainly recommend Sheila as a real estate agent. She is like a family member to me, and she builds a trust that I have never found in another broker.
“I've worked with Sheila multiple times because she is always reliable, pleasant and delightful.”

My experiences with Sheila have been delightful. I’ve worked with many other brokers over my thirty years in the city, and she’s head and shoulders above the rest. Sheila has helped me with a number of deals, including finding an apartment to rent, sub-letting multiple properties, and later buying both condominium and co-op homes. The reason I kept coming back to Sheila was that she’s always been reliable, pleasant to deal with, and her ability to fit match what’s on the market with my needs has never failed. She’s a constant source of excellent, impartial advice, and she’s never tried to force me into a property I wasn’t fully satisfied with. I’ve already recommended Sheila wholeheartedly to numerous friends and acquaintances, and I would again. She’s the best agent I’ve dealt with.

I have worked with Sheila on multiple occasions and the experience has always been excellent. I’ve worked with a number of realtors in my life, and Sheila is definitely the most helpful and honest I have found. Often times, you find agents that just want to see a transaction occur, but Sheila's focus is to help her client find the right property at the right price. Sheila spent a lot of time educating us on the market and helping us find a long term home, not a short term solution. She never pushed us to do anything we were unsure of during the entire process. Sheila was also extremely good with the important details, whether they were specific aspects of the contract that could have potentially caused a problem or just small issues she felt we might want to be aware of. Given her level of experience, there were obviously plenty of issues she had seen come up in the past, so she was always on top of pointing out these possibilities to us and making sure we understood them. If we ever had a question, we could e-mail Sheila and she’d answer almost immediately from her BlackBerry, or she’d call me back within a few minutes if she felt she needed to give me a more in-depth response. I’ve recommended Sheila to some of my friends already, and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a one-of-a kind realtor. At this point, I’ll never give anyone else my business, because I trust her, and she’s built that trust in our dealings together.
