Specialties

Generalists »

I sell in all of Manhattan's neighborhoods but my real focus is Upper East Side "white glove" co-ops. Typically, these buildings are from Park Avenue to Fifth Avenue, 59th Street to 97th Street. I specialize in family size apartments.

Buyers moving to NYC »

I have handled dozens of sales for buyers who have moved to New York from other parts of the U.S. and the world. I listen to the client's needs and have the experience and ability to place them in the neighborhood that works best for them and in the appropriate size apartment.

Investors »

I have sold dozens of condominiums to buyers who are purchasing them solely as an investment. I fully understand the income to expense concept of purchasing for investment. I am very aware of the issues involved with investment properties because I presently own numerous apartments for investment purposes only.

Estate sales »

I have represented dozens of estates over the years in the sale of their New York City properties. I have a strong reach in the real estate community and I have been successful in projecting an estate sale as value for the purchaser.

Agent's personal statement

My real estate sales career began in New York City almost 20 years ago. I know my business and have an excellent reputation as being an honest, hard-working, and intelligent broker. For over 10 years, my production at Douglas Elliman was ranked in the top 20 brokers in the entire firm. Part of my success is due to the fact that that I am a straight-forward broker. My business model is not about making one sale to generate one commission check. Instead, I try my best to keep a client for years to come. In my 20 years working in the business, I have seen first-hand that honesty and hard work are the keys to keeping clients happy and loyal.

I’ve worked with Richard for twenty years in just about every neighborhood in New York. With him, I’ve bought and sold condos, co-op apartments, townhouses, lofts -- everything I can think of. We’re actually currently working together on a deal. I can’t think of anybody else who would be able to do as good of a job as Richard. He’s a very smart guy, an extremely hard worker, and he’s very experienced with a tremendous knowledge of the real estate market. I’ve never met anyone else who can pull a deal together as well as he can. I would recommend Richard to anyone in need of a realtor, whether for a personal home or an investment in property.
“I've worked with Richard multiple times. That says everything about the type of realtor he is.”

When I first moved to the city in 1993, Richard helped me find an apartment in Murray Hill. We developed a long-term relationship from the sale and have kept in contact over the years, which I think says a whole lot about the type of realtor he is. I've recommended Richard not only to my family and friends, but also to very important clients, and he's earned my trust every time. He has an extensive knowledge of the buildings he lists, the co-ops he works with, and does an incredible amount of research when there's something he isn't absolutely sure about. Three years ago, Richard invited me to an open house that he was hosting, and I decided to take a look at the property. We talked about ways that the loft could be renovated and the space could be optimized, and I eventually purchased it. Unfortunately, external circumstances forced me to sell the property as soon as I finished working on it, but Richard helped me get a great price on it, and I was again impressed by his professionalism and hard work.
“Richard carefully explained the co-op purchasing process.”

My experience with Richard was very positive. When my husband and I were expecting our first child, we were looking to upsize and relocate from downtown to the Upper West Side, but we had a very rigid budget. Richard completely understood our limit and focused on finding us the best home we could afford in the area. Because we were looking mainly at co-ops, Richard was careful to explain the maintenance fees associated with each property and how they would affect the true price of each apartment. He also helped protect us from bidding wars, since we were buying as the market approached its peak. I highly recommend Richard to anyone looking for a real estate agent who has a great eye for quality and is a true pleasure to be around.

Working with Richard was a very positive experience for me. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the market, and I really appreciated his broad view of various property types in the city, particularly condos and co-ops. His experience allowed him to offer a wide perspective as well as explain the upsides and downsides of each property type to me. He also understands the tax implications involved with purchasing property, so he was able to advise me not only as a realtor but as a financial consultant, as well. Despite the amount of counsel I received from Richard, he never acted like a pushy salesman. Instead, he focused on keeping me well-informed and allowing me to make educated decisions in my purchase. I’ve already recommended Richard to others, and I would definitely do so again.

I’ve known Richard for many years, and we’ve closed a number of deals together. The first few times we worked together, he developed a truly deep understanding of my likes, dislikes, and my objective within the real estate market. He was unbelievably diligent, and he helped to make those first transactions extremely quick and smooth. Currently, we’re in the middle of what’s been a long, drawn-out process, and he’s been incredibly patient with me as I try to figure out exactly what I’m looking for. Every time I’ve changed my mind about a location or price, he’s worked hard to find a group of listings that fit the new criteria. He’s never pressured me to make a bid on a property I wasn’t completely interested in, and I think that’s a true display of his integrity. I’ve already recommended Richard to many friends. He’s a true professional.
