Agent's personal statement

My wife, Sandra Gansberg, and I work as a team. Our goal is always the same: devoting all our energy, experience, and skill to make sure our clients' needs are addressed and their goals are achieved in a way that makes the whole experience of working with us not just successful, but enjoyable. To do that, we use our professional skills which represent a total of more than 70 years of business experience. We are both career sellers and negotiators. We pride ourselves on making deals happen. We don't list apartments or show apartments -- we sell apartments.

Prior to real estate, I owned and operated a successful textile business for over 10 years. The skills and experience we have acquired over our long careers coupled with our sensitive, customer-centric attitude, make us especially capable of fulfilling our clients' needs, whether it be helping them find their new home, guiding them through the negotiating process, or representing them in the sale of their present home. We have found that being a husband and wife team helps us appeal to the broadest range of potential clients.

“I am a real estate investor. I've worked with many brokers but Michael is truly exceptional.”

I’m a professional real estate investor. My firm has a portfolio that includes well over $1 billion of real estate property, so I consider myself one of the more picky clients for a broker. I’ve worked with a number of commercial and residential agents all over the country, and Michael is truly exceptional for a number of reasons. Working with Michael includes working with Michael’s full-service team. While he concentrates on the major buying and selling involved, his team works in the background to make sure the whole experience is as smooth and seamless as possible. He has people helping to find rental properties for his clients when they’re in between properties, and even before making a sale, his team is scouting new properties for a future purchase. In searching to buy, Michael takes the time necessary to figure out what his clients are looking for. In my case, he introduced me to a neighborhood I had never even considered living in before, but it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. He and his team don’t work solely off of elementary preferences such as number of bedrooms or square footage, but they take into account the proximity of a location to public transit, the quality of the building that the property is in, and the actual cost per square foot of the residence. I’ve recommended Michael to multiple colleagues and friends. It’s fairly easy to find a broker in Manhattan who’s a complete disaster, but finding one with Michael’s talent is not only rare, but extremely difficult.

I know that when people say something is near perfect, it’s very hard to believe, but with Michael, it’s absolutely true. Michael is the most professional and efficient person I’ve ever met. From our first meeting, he took a personal interest in what I was looking for, and it didn’t take long for him to find exactly what I wanted. Once our bid was accepted, he helped me to prepare all the necessary paperwork, which made my life very easy. The process of selling all my belongings to move from a large house to a much smaller property in the city was very difficult, but Michael made the buying process a real pleasure. The whole experience was terrific. I would definitely recommend Michael to others. You won’t find anyone better in the city.

Working with Michael was terrific. He and his wife, Sandy, were very hard workers, incredibly responsive, and did a superb job selling my apartment. To me, their greatest strengths were their tenacity, their commitment to the job, and their compassion for me as a client. You really can’t do any better than Michael. That is why I’ve recommended Michael many times to friends. They’ve all been extremely satisfied with his dedication to his work.
“As a first-time buyer, I was unsure about the process. Michael was the only agent who took the time to explain the entire process to me.”

Michael put in the time and effort that I wanted from an agent, and he was sincere about educating me in how the market worked. I am very happy with how the experience went and I would recommend Michael to others without hesitation. His professionalism, knowledge of the market, and willingness to help his clients really set him apart from the rest of the field. As a first-time buyer, I was unsure of a lot of aspects of buying an apartment, and Michael was the only agent who actually sat down with me, gave me hours of his time, and explained the whole process step by step. He advised me on what I could and couldn’t afford and whether my credit was good enough to be approved by a co-op Board. In the end, he helped me buy an apartment at the height of the market, so I was very pleased.
“As a first-time buyer, I was in great hands with Michael and his wife Sandy.”

My experience working with Michael couldn’t have been better. Both he and his wife, Sandy, are incredibly knowledgeable, and they quickly earned my trust as realtors. I was in the market to become a first-time buyer when I connected with Michael, and he was able to tap into my needs right away. He was extremely intuitive about what I wanted, and he understood exactly what was important to me in a home. There was a great chemistry with the three of us, so the whole process was a pleasure. I would surely recommend Michael and his wife to family or friends. You can expect a pressure-free, truly great experience with them.
“I had not planned on using an agent to sell my apartment but ultimately I decided to use Michael. I have never regretted that decision.”

When I first decided to sell my condo, the market was still moving swimmingly well. I’d sold an apartment before without a broker, so I wanted to try it again. The result was disastrous. Instead of buyers, I had brokers calling me, even though my listing for the apartment had specified against that. I began to meet with and interview brokers, and soon my list had dozens of names on it. The first time I talked to Michael on the phone, I was very impressed with how sincere and helpful he was. He didn’t come off like a used car salesman like many of the others had. He was willing to help me sell the apartment on my own by just offering some tips and information in an encouraging way. He had such a nice manner that I wrote a star next to his name, and I ended up turning to him to help me sell the apartment. I’ve never regretted or reconsidered that decision. When we first met, Michael and his wife Sandy were lovely to talk to and very easy to deal with, and I liked them not only professionally but also personally. My experience with Michael and his wife Sandy was great. I have already recommended Michael and Sandy to my family and friends, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great team. You’ll be in very good hands with them.
“Helped me buy and sell a condo in Harlem. Michael is responsive and professional.”

Michael helped me both buy and sell a condo in Harlem. During both processes, he was very responsive and displayed a great understanding of the market and my neighborhood. He communicated well and always conveyed a high level of professionalism in his work. Overall, the experience with Michael was fantastic. Working with Michael also included his wife and partner, Sandy, so I felt like I got two realtors for the price of one. Together, they’re a great team. I would certainly recommend Michael and Sandy to others.
“Michael is smart, savvy and he knows how to push a deal through.”

I met Michael at an open house at a time when I had decided to sell my apartment without an agent. He gave me his sales pitch, and I told him that if I ever changed my mind, I’d consider him as an agent. When I finally did change my mind, I interviewed Michael as well as a few other agents, and I really liked his intelligence, his ability as a salesman, and I liked that he had an accurate read on the market. My experience with Michael was very good. He and his wife work as a team, and they form a great combination. They’re very professional, flexible, and readily available. Together, Michael and his wife helped me showcase my apartment and set up a number of open houses. This was all during a time when the market was dead, but they were still able to find an appropriate buyer and sell the apartment at a great price. Even towards the end of the deal when the buyer started stalling, Michael pushed forward, remained flexible to some last minute glitches, and he made the sale. I’ve recommended Michael to a number of people, including some extremely difficult clients. He’s closed a deal with every one of them, and they’ve all been very happy with his work.
