New York is a city of neighborhoods and I've lived in most of them; I understand the details of each, from schools to restaurants to transportation. Relocating to Manhattan can be an intimidating, stressful experience. Having to learn about different neighborhoods and school systems, let alone physically moving, can be overwhelming. I enjoy working with clients moving to Manhattan because I know Manhattan as well as anyone and I love to pass on that knowledge. I've lived here for 35 years, raised a family, worked, played and done charity work here. I've experienced life to the fullest here and I look forward to seeing my clients enjoy the city as much as I do. I can be especially helpful to customers with school-age children because I understand both the private & public systems so well.

As a lifelong New Yorker who has lived, worked and sent my children to school in various zip codes throughout the City, I have developed vast but detailed information about neighborhoods, subway and bus routes, public and private schools, and comparable sales in nearby buildings and surrounding neighborhoods. My intimate knowledge of the City enables me to best prepare my customers for what can be a long, but nevertheless, rewarding process.

 

Originally trained as an educator, today, I am a Senior Vice President and Associate Broker at Corcoran. I employ the same skills I used in the classroom to simplify the myriad complexities of the real estate process to ensure that my buyers and sellers are equipped with the knowledge they need to best determine their ideal price, location, and type of home -- be it a co-op, condominium, rental property or townhouse. Just as I accommodated the diverse needs of my former students, I am able to tailor my research and approach to each of my clients, whether they are first-time buyers or sellers, seasoned New Yorkers, out-of-towners, foreign investors, or those looking to build their lives around their home.

 

Although I have completed hundreds of successful real estate transactions, I value the unique requests of each of my clients, and recognize that every purchase or sale is both a financial and emotional decision. That is why my relationship with my customers and clients is collaborative and my approach to real estate is proactive. I understand that my job extends beyond just showing apartments. I communicate with mortgage brokers to guarantee that mortgages are written in a timely manner, and I work with respective attorneys to ensure that all information is accurate and available. I collaborate with the managing agent to produce a board package that is both complete and easily understood and I leverage unique tools to market apartments in a way that best complements the property.

 

My endless energy, vast knowledge about New York City real estate, and unrelenting drive to guarantee that my buyers and sellers receive the price they desire and the property they love stem from a lifetime of experience as a resident of New York myself, and a dedicated love of real estate. I feel that I was in really good hands working with Lynn, and I'd absolutely recommend her to friends or family. She really made me feel comfortable by being so available; if there was ever a time in which she couldn't answer a question right away, she always called back. Since I was a first-time buyer in Manhattan, and I was purchasing a property for my daughter, I was happy to have Lynn advising me every step of the way. She was a good advocate for me, and she kept my best interests at heart. Lynn is terrific. Lynn helped me purchase two co-ops in New York City, the first on the Upper East Side and the second in Chelsea. Lynn's approach to working with her clients is very comprehensive. The first time I purchased with her, she was able to infer and subsequently sum up my likes and dislikes after only three or four viewings. She combined what I had told her with my reactions to different properties to develop a complete understanding of my preferences, so she didn't show me unsuitable properties after that. The second time I worked with her, she took me to only three or four places, and I could've purchased any of them. This was three years later, and she still remembered my preferences. Her ability to profile her clients is outstanding. Lynn's expertise doesn't stop there - she also has a great ability to work with other brokers and lawyers in order to close a deal. The entire time, she never acts like she needs to close the deal or earn a commission, but instead, it's apparent that she genuinely likes her work and loves to serve her clients. I've recommended Lynn to a number of friends, and I would do it again, no questions asked. She's very pleasant to work with.

We worked with Lynn to sell an investment property on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. During the process, we decided not to sell the apartment because of the deteriorating market conditions. Lynn quickly shifted her focus from the sales market to the rental market and found us a suitable renter. I've worked with many real estate agents in the past and with some, I've had to do most of the research; others have been pushy or not very knowledgeable. Unlike those agents, Lynn did her homework, had an excellent understanding of the market and was never pushy. I began working with Lynn in January 2006 when she helped me buy a co-op apartment on the Upper East Side. My family had been renting and we decided that, not only was it a good time to buy, but we also needed more space. Lynn is extremely knowledgeable about the properties in the Upper East Side and knows what co-op boards look for in an applicant. She understands how to work the co-op approval process from beginning to end, and in this regard she made what could be a very challenging process very easy for us. Lynn Kellert of the Corcoran Group was instrumental in my purchase of a pre-war co-op apartment on the Upper East Side when we changed our primary residence from Long Island to the city five years ago. Though I had known Lynn for many years, working with her showed me her professional side reflecting enthusiasm, tenacity and intelligence. She saw opportunities, jumped in and negotiated well. Lynn has a keen understanding of the negotiating process, knows the importance of a perfect and complete board package, and gives careful consideration to board approval. The apartment we bought already had an accepted offer, but with questionable board approval. Lynn sensed an opportunity, worked quickly and caught the deal. Since I have been a broker for over 25 years on the North Shore of Long Island, I can appreciate a very strong broker. Lynn is smart, knowledgeable, effective and knows how to close a deal.
